It is also useful as a tool for improving one’s sight reading abilities with the examples being in many different keys and rhythms. The 12 bar Blues progression and the Blues scale are also explained. Included with this book is are audio files with each example recorded twice. The first version of each example has the saxophone playing along with a rhythm section and the second version just has the rhythm section playing so that the saxophonist can play along. An optional MIDI disk in General MIDI format is available.

Just got your 100 Blues licks for Tenor Saxophone today. I'm way impressed!! Very well designed book. Good mix of styles and tempos, good progression from beginning to end of the book, nice type fonts, and the CD tracks match the lick numbers!!!! I studied sax many moons ago, and I lost my motivation because of practicing all that "On top of Old Smokey, Home, home on the range" kind of stuff. Thank God some instrument instruction books recognize the blues these days. Thanks for the excellent book. R.E. CA
